The fourth state of matter - 2018

This is a piece that I made in collaboration with Harriet Schwarzrock for the Hearts and Minds exhibition at the Canberra Glassworks.
Field Movement
Touch is one of the first of the senses to develop in human infants and remains one of the most important senses throughout our lives. This interactive installation explores light and sound generation through the calming effects of human touch. With the piece constantly producing sounds, one rhythmic and one melodic it waits for an interaction via the four energised neon glass hearts. The effect of this interaction reduces the electrical field around the hearts and is transferred into a calming effect on the overall sound, slowing and reducing its movement and intensity.
